  • Our Services

At Texan Allergy, we are able to test and treat most patients starting at the age of 2. We normally do not recommend allergy shots for any children younger than eight years of age. Treatment begins with allergy testing so we can find out exactly what you are allergic to. Once testing is complete, we will begin immunotherapy in the form of allergy shots or allergy drops.

  • Allergy Testing

Allergy testing can be a little scary if you don't know what to expect. Rest assured that our team is well trained and experienced in allergy testing. Patients are our highest priority and we strive to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Options for testing at Texan Allergy include skin testing (both prick and intradermal) and blood testing. Both tests are good, but generally skin testing gives more accurate results. There are a few medications to avoid in the days before skin testing. We will provide you with the list as well as any other specific instructions. It’s important to follow these recommendations because otherwise, you may receive incorrect results. Results are given the same day as testing.

  • Allergy Shots & Drops

After allergy testing we can determine what allergens you are allergic to, and we are than able to treat the actual source of the allergy with either allergy shots or allergy drops. Allergy drops involve a daily drop under the tongue, rather than an injection. Treatment with allergy drops is known as sublingual Immunotherapy. This process has been used safely for over 100 years with both children and adults. Allergy drops are a treatment that many clinical studies have been proven to be an effective alternative to allergy shots, though both allergy treatments have their place in overall patient health. Allergy drops are taken home and administered under the tongue by the patient, allowing them to only have to make clinical visits 2-3 times a year.
